Life is the experience or state of being alive. Trying to embrace the concept of The Living Museum, the project aims not only at creating an integrated accommodation facility but also at generating spaces of art.
The Nivola museum expands its branches, permeating into the surrounding landscape with different moments of artistic expression which connect the independent units.
The project creates a new way of experiencing the museum that stimulates all the senses. Temporary exhibitions can be organised in the different squares while the connecting path brings the visitors inside the local nature slowing down the pace of the hectic life of the 21st century. The museum extension creates moments of relaxation where guests and visitors enjoy art in all its forms while sitting on a bench listening to the sound of water in the background.
The four units are designed to house one or two guests, eight in total. The small kitchen and bathroom are placed in a central core that divides the living room from the bedroom.
These spaces benefit from the large windows facing the valley and are connected to the terrace that creates a private outdoor space for all the guests.
Taking advantage of the sloped terrain, the roof of each unit becomes a public space overlooking Orani on the other side of the valley. With its peculiar characteristics, this space can be used also for temporary exhibitions or as a stage to host small concerts or conferences with the splendid Sardinian background.
